Movies From 2009

In 2009 many great films came out here are a few I liked.

Twilight Saga: New Moon
I love this movie!
It is funny romantic and full of action all at the same time.
Oh, and don't forget the vampires and werewolves!

The Blind Side
I just sat in the theater and held back tears because it was so sad how Michael had to live.

One of the best movies I have ever seen.

Then we got my main chipmunks Alvin, Theadore, and Simon.
This movie is so funny and they are quite adorable chipmunks.

UP
This movie was sad in the beggining and funny the rest of the time. HA!

Hannah Montana the Movie

I didn't think I would, but I really liked it alot.

It was a very good movie.

G-Force
I liked it, it was a good film. Very funny and very interesting.

This movie was so funny! I loved it! Saw it twice!

All these films and more, are movies I would recommend from 2009.

Looking Back On 2009

Throughout 2009 many memorable things happened.

Mckay turned 17 this year and got his eagle project done. He is in the Priest quorum too.He also began to play tennis and went on many scouting trips. Mckay also likes trips up to Malad, Idaho where Uncle Carl, my dad, and he take pictures of animals on our 640 acres. Or as we like to call it the 640. He also has 3 guns but no shooting for him yet.He is now a junior in high school and works at the hay barn throwing hay onto trucks. This winter, he also worked as a salesman, selling manure for my dads business. He is a working boy!

Kaitlin is now thirteen, birthday January 31, and has turned into a teenager. She is a beehive in young womens while my mom is the secretary over the young women. She is into fashion, dancing, traveling, texting, and hanging out with friends. This year Kaitlin became president of her schools NJHS program. She also got contacts, moved up a level in ballet and onto point. She got a new phone, the enV 3, for Christmas this year, started 8th grade volleyball and continues to get all As.

I, Cassie, turned 11 this year and for my birthday I got a motor scooter. I enjoy playing instruments such as the viola, guitar, piano, and drums. This year I went with my new school to 6th grade science camp. It was lots of fun and I even got to play the guitar during the camp fire songs. I also do dance, try hard in school and hang out with friends. This summer I played volleyball and this winter got a bone bruise in my knee at dance. I love to play sports and instruments and next year hope to play volleyball or softball for the 7th grade team.

Mackenzie, age 7, is in the 1st grade and loves it! She also loves to dance and do gymnastics just like her big sisters. She also rides horses and is on a special needs cheer squad. They are all so cute! Mackenzie is known to be a picky eater but throughout this year her food variety has grown, one food at a time.

Carter is 4 years old and growing up so fast. He to enjoys going to the "640" and looking for animals. He is into Star Wars and playing with neighborhood friends. He likes going to the park and playing football with the big boys. He also loves to visit cousins. Carter enjoys being outside and playing with toys. He is in preschool at our neighbor, Mrs. Allison's, house. He loves the feeling that he gets to go to school like the big kids, even if it's only 3 days a week.

Rocko, our dog, is a 1 year old pup. He loves to play with the kids and chew up things. He is super protective and at night, won't let anyone touch a sleeping child. We love him, even if he is a bit of a hassel. He is a good dog for the most part and my Dad even admited to loving the little guy.

This year has been all together a pretty good year for the Hancocks. From our family to yours...

Happy New Years

Dance Dance Dance

Arizona State Fair is here, and we get to go in 100 degree weather and dance. Yes, it is still 100 degrees here, and it sucks. We got to the fair all ready for our first dance, and had to wait FOREVER in the hot sun. Because, the stupid other studios ran 30 minutes over finishing up their dances. Plus, both Kaitlin and me had to have our hats on that we wear for our dance and they made our heads sweaty. It was terrible, but we pulled through and danced. I had 1 tap dance and Kaitlin had 2 jazz dances. We had lots of fun and i will post videos of 1 of Kaitlin's dances and my dance. I can't at the moment because we have to finalize the disc, and my mom doesn't want to do that until she uses up the whole disc. But, i will get it on here. Grandma Jackee was down here so she came and watched. Fun Fun Fun in the sun.

Talents

I don't know why, but one day i decided i would write a book. I have gotten 3 chapters done so here they are, hope you like it.

Chapter One: Me

I can feel the bobby pins digging into my scalp. My mother drives slowly with the classical music playing softly in the background. My leotard is to tight and I feel very uncomfortable in it. Ever since I was 4 years old my mother has made me take ballet lessons. My teacher thinks I have a full potential and that I should keep taking lessons forever. I hope I don’t, everyone looks at me funny when they see me leave school with tights and a leotard on. We get out of school at 3:50 and I must get to ballet on time at 4:00. Mother doesn’t understand that I am 14 now and I don’t like to be seen as the pretty ballerina anymore.
I arrive at ballet on time, like always and start doing the exercises at the bar. I know the routines by heart, so I let my mind wander. It happens to wonder on to the topic of Johnny Meyer. He is the bad boy that everyone likes, including me. He is so gorgeous with his blue eyes and golden hair. His smile reminds me of my mother’s only necklace that has just one pearl at the end of the lace. My father had given it to her just before he died at war. Ever since this tragedy my mother has kept to her self quite a bit. She never goes out on a date even though my father died almost a year and a half ago. I miss him and I wouldn’t mind if she went on a date every once in a while.

Then that brings my mind to the topic of my mother. How she always has a cough or a headache. She has had these coughs and headaches since my father died. She has been very depressed lately and doesn’t ever seem happy about anything. Not even a good grade or moving up a level in ballet. She took lessons when she was younger, and got to level 8. Then, her parents ran out of money and made her quit. She never wanted that to happen to me so she takes on a part time job as a bagger at Mrs. Hagger’s Grocery store and a part time job at a daycare. I never can figure out how she goes to 3 hours at the daycare and then 3 hours at the grocery store all before she picks me up from school. But she does it, all by herself

Chapter Two: My Father

I was only 11 years old when my father went to fight at war. It seems like America is always at war with someone. My father went to fight for his country and I admire him for that. July 16, 2007 we got a call. My father had been killed by an Iraqi soldier. My mother and I were devastated. Our hero no longer was with us.
I can remember when I was 4 years old and I got stuck in a canal by our home. My mother was not home but my father was. Although he was in the shower at the time I fell in, he could sense something was wrong. He ran out to our small backyard and looked for me. Then he heard me screaming. He ran to the canal and pulled me out just as I was about to let go of the ledge, that was keeping me alive. My daddy is my hero, and now he is gone.
He fought for his country, and died for his country. My daddy loved America, every time it was a national holiday he would put a flag up in our front yard. Then he would gather my momma and me around it and we would say the pledge. We did that as a family every national holiday, every year. Once he was gone, momma and I continued his routines. To show our love for the nation we live in, just like daddy did.

Chapter Three: Life

Whenever I would whine my father would tell me “Life ain’t always fair bud.” Bud was my father’s nickname for me. Everything he said to me usually ended with bud. My father always used to tell me everything how it was.
One time when I was practicing my singing voice he came in to my room. I asked him if it sounded good and he said flat out no. I ran to my mom so fast, while balling my eyes out. When she asked me what on earth was wrong I said, “Daddy is a big old jerk.” My mom just laughed, while I tried to figure out what the heck she was laughing about. She was sitting there laughing, and my head was about to pop off my neck I was so mad.
But my father was right, life isn’t always fair. Sometimes we have to do things we don’t want to, just to make the ones we love happy. I have learned that from my ballet lessons. I don’t want to take them anymore but I can’t tell my mother I don’t want to anymore. It would break her heart. These days I am glad my big old jerk of a dad taught me that life isn’t always fair. He probably saved me a lot of guilt.
Whenever I am about to yell and scream that I don’t want to go to ballet anymore, I hear his voice. It whispers softly in my ear, “Life ain’t always fair Bud.” That’s when I remember that I have to do some things in life, just to make the ones I love happy.

CATCHING UP

I haven't posted for a while so i decided i would make a catching up post.McKay's birthday was on August 31, Angee and her family came over and the same with Reuben's. Then it was my birthday was September 7. We had both side of the family come over the Sunday before my birthday. We had lots of fun. We ate cake and ice cream and then just visited.

Just last week my sixth grade went to science camp. my mom went as a chaperon. We had a lot of fun aside from my annoying roommates. we did lots of different classes while we were up there like cooking class where we made ice cream, owl pellets (ewwww), and a compass course. we had tons of fun.

H1N1 virus has made its way into our lives. recently my dance teacher had it and now a class mate and her whole family has it. Guess what, we got it to. We have all had a cough since at least Saturday, and we are sick of it. Here is when everyone started having symptoms.

Saturday- Me
Sunday- Mackenzie and Mom
Monday- Kaitlin and Carter
Today- Daddio

McKay is the only lucky one, and even though mom is at a job try out, he wont take care of us. we all still have it but thank goodness mom doesn't have it to bad, or else she might not have been able to try out her new job.

I think that's all there is to catch up on.

Boating At Lake Saguaro

We finally got the boat fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!! So on the last week of summer we took it out twice to saguaro lake. We had so much fun. The kids went in the raft a lot and my dad even skied once "Ha i don't have to do that for twenty more years!"is what he said after his wild ride. He proved he could still ski. It took mom a while to get his head up out of the water but still, he did it! Did you know that you have to by a boating pass in town????? You can't buy them at the lake. My dad was so surprised he said " What the lake ain't free anymore??" :) Well it's not and dad didn't know that so we took our chances and went without a boating pass. The sign said cars without boating passes will be ticketed. But we didn't even get caught! Crazy us!
